This week.

Well, another crazy week has come and gone. I'm really looking forward to having some peace sometime... although it's not looking to be anytime soon. And even if it is, my ribs have become a daily footstool (or armrest b/c I think he's still breech) for Cole so it's not going to be a very comfortable break anyway :-) It didn't help that I fell down the stairs yesterday afternoon - no worries, just on my tailbone about 10 steps or so. But man, it was about as painful as some of my back-labor with Asher - yikes! The actual tailbone doesn't hurt, more like the back of my pelvis. It hurt a lot last night and not as much today, now the muscles in my back just hurt from trying to stop the fall so quickly I'm sure. Cole is as active as ever and otherwise, everything is still the same... if I'm still in pain in another few days I might go in for a checkup.

Stuff happens every day that I think to write about, but I get here at 9:15pm and am too tired to even try thinking about it. Ugh! Only 10 more weeks until baby #2 arrives and I'm aching for some stability in my life. Things are always changing and I feel like we never know what we are doing. It makes me want to tune out and just sleep for a week in the hopes that I'll have enough energy and excitement again to jump back into life. I've never been great at the whole "stamina" thing - in sports or real life - so I'm not sure how to combat all that while knowing that I'm going to be tired for a very long time.

Mark and I are trying to figure out how to make a studio work for me. We have some really great ideas - some that many people have already posed a lot of interest in - but with only 1 car it's tough to see how that will work unless the studio is here at home... which is actually a do-able alternative. So now, it's just time to save up for some equipment and work on a few "photo days" for some of my friends with kids until I can get the amount of $$$ I need. Wish me luck!

Lastly, I took some more photos of Asher today... and edited a few from the last week or 2. There are a lot... hope they make you smile!

Such a sly grin!

Being cute in the backyard.

"Momma help! I have dirt on my face!"

So serious sometimes.

And not so serious other times :-)

Just too darn cute!

I can't believe how fast Asher is growing! He's so sweet (generally) but he really doesn't listen when we're out in the yard... ugh! But I was able to get him to be mostly cooperative while taking some photos... enjoy :-)

The bump known as 'Cole' at 28 weeks!

Been a while!

Sorry folks, I've been majorly slacking on the blogging thing lately! I've not been completely busy, but more that my time has just been taken :-) I've getting so uncomfortable and big now that I'm in need of a nap almost every day to stay sane. Some days, I'm even napping during all of Asher's nap... sad, but necessary!

So much has been going on with Asher, it's tough to make sure I write it all down! I want to be better about it b/c there are funny things that happen every day, but I get on here and can't remember anything! I use shutterfly.com a lot for ordering photos and such that recently, I was given offers for 2 free photo books! So, I created one that is more like a portfolio of my floral and landscape photography and another that is full of Asher photos from birth until now. I'm so excited to get the one of Asher... we take so many photos on our iphones that aren't big enough or high quality enough to make prints but that will print well in a photo book at a smaller size! It's like a scrapbook, but digitally composed... I cannot wait!

Asher has been climbing on things and is starting to pronounce a few of his words better. 2 of which are "up" and "down." He'll wander into the kitchen, lift his arms, take his binky out and say "up" with such precision it's ridiculous! He certainly has been a cuddle bug lately... makes me a bit nervous for the arrival of Cole - oh, and in case you hadn't heard we're naming boy #2 Ethan Cole but at this point, we're pretty sure we'll be calling him Cole... it just seems more fitting... we'll see once he's born.

Asher has also moved into a toddler bed! And he's just taking one 3 hour nap a day! We're pretty sure it's final since he's been doing pretty well. The last couple nights he's rolled out and onto the floor but only once each night, and he's always still sitting and either playing or moaning in bed when I go in there in the morning... even for naps! He's only gotten out of bed once after being told it was "sleepy time" which both Mark and I have been impressed with and grateful for. Especially since the toddler bed we bought was off of craigslist.org and only cost $20 with the mattress!!! Thank you Lord! What a blessing the whole situation has been... we were a bit concerned b/c for Cole, all we need really are the bigger expensive items - double stroller and car seat, crib, mattress, bedding, etc - so getting Asher into a $20 bed so we can give Cole the crib takes off a big chunk of what we were expecting to be spending!

Just a couple random things - I have 2 events coming up....

Friday the 19th - Our women's event will be at our house - Flip Flops, Faith and Friends - bring an old or new pair of flip flops to redecorate! We've got all the stuff you'll need. Bring nail polish too if you want - we'll have some here and we'll be soaking our feet in kiddie pools out on the patio too. Or, if you don't want to do either of those things just show up for some good food and time to just hang out with the ladies! You don't have to be a member of Creekside to come... in fact, the more the merrier! It'll be from 7-10pm so ditch the kids at home and come on over... email me if you need the address.

Wednesday June 24th - Tupperware Party at my house - My friend Emily is just starting Tupperware and needs to book some practice parties. We'll have snacks and Emily will do a little presentation. I know I've been needing some containers for Asher's food and drink... all you young moms should come and at least get a set of their sippy cups - lifetime warranty!!

Finally, our good friends Jeff and Chelsi Lacine (along with their 2 daughters Hosanna and Hope) are going to be moving out to Minneapolis for Jeff to attend the school where John Piper teaches and mentors. Only 14 students are accepted each year and the Lacines are really excited at this opportunity! That being said, they're leaving within a little over a week so if you want to see them one last time, let me know. They'll be spending some time with us part of Saturday, June 20th and we'll be more than happy to share :-)

Well, hopefully it won't take me weeks to write again... if it does, I apologize ahead of time! At least you're bound to get some cute Asher photos now and again... oh, and I'll try and get Mark to take one of me so you can see how ginormous my belly is... ugh!

New Chairs for the Playroom... Asher likes the adult ones :-)

New Site and New Baby Analeigh

Posted by Joellen Armstrong Monday, June 1, 2009 3:11 PM 1 comments
Hey everyone... sorry for the weeklong lapse! There's been a bunch going on but I'm only going to hit on a few things.

Asher has been great! A handful for sure, but just so funny! The little boy inside has started to show up more and more, keeping Mark and I laughing and constantly amazed. Just today, he was playing on the couch beside me when he came over, took his half eaten cracker and set it on my belly, then proceeded to eat it up just with his mouth. Yeah, he's definitely a boy!

I put up a new website! It's www.joliphoto.wordpress.com

I decided I wanted something I could update more easily and actually get some photos and information up for people to see. Let me know what you think! Oh, and don't forget to check out the referral program... basically $10 for you whenever you refer someone who books a shoot with me!

Last but not least, I did a photo shoot for the Browns and new baby Analeigh... she was so good! Well, during photos she was good... and it wasn't like she was bad... she's just a hungry little thing! The photos are some of my best stuff yet and have really inspired me to pursue opening my own studio. It's a couple years down the road but I'm trying to get some groundwork done now! Enjoy the photos - there are lots!
